![]() ![]() The shoulder buttons work better for occasional adjustments. If you're playing on a New 3DS you might be tempted to use the C-stick to move it around, I'd actually suggest just leaving it alone - it has a habit of snapping back to the character in a way that feels like it's fighting against you. It feels "off" in a way I have trouble describing. The dodge roll is a little weird though, but that might just be an issue of learning better timing. ![]() Your teammates make a difference, as do your different moves. It gradually introduces new aspects of play, instead of just throwing you into a spot with tons of choices.Ĭombat is perhaps EO's weakest part, but it works and the difficulty is scaled well enough you can definitely get wrecked early on if you don't pay attention, and a couple of levels seems to make a serious difference, both for your character and for enemies. It doesn't start with a lot of choice, which I think works in its favor. It's pretty, the characters are generally charming, and the dialogue is fun without being excessive (Fantasy Life had a serious problem with too much dialogue - folks talked forever, about nothing). My issue with Fantasy Life, probably the game to which Ever Oasis is most similar, was that it felt like a game that tried really hard but missed the mark.
